More about eRA-LoRa Modules
The eRA-LoRa module is a hybrid of LoRa™ technology and eRA technology for applications that require a range of 1km or more, or for applications operating in a poor RF location. Utilising CSS (Chirped Spread Spectrum) modulation together with DSS (Digital Signal Processing), a greater range is achieved compared to traditional devices using OOK (On/Off Key), FSK (Frequency-Shift Key) or GFSK (Gaussian Frequency-Shift) modulation. Sensitivity and blocking performance are improved giving high interference immunity whilst still offering low power consumption.
Operating in the licence-free band of 804-940 MHz, the eRA-LoRa transceiver is approved for European markets (ETSI), USA markets (FCC) and Canadian markets (IC). This eliminates the need for complex, costly approval processes for OEM’s. The module is a complete sub-system that combines a high-performance, low-power RF transceiver, a microcontroller and a voltage regulator. Key operating parameters can be changed and configured by sending simple ’text’ (ASCII character) commands to the module.
With over 25 years of experience as RF experts, we are always conservative when quoting range and provide realistic, real-world figures based on what can be expected of our high-performing easyRadio modules. The eRA-LoRa module can achieve a range of 1-3km LOS (Line of Sight) and is ideal for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
